UWC Mauritius follows a thorough and well-rounded selection process to identify motivated and talented young individuals who align with UWC’s values and mission.
Before starting your application, we suggest you:

- Check the UWC selection criteria to determine if you are a good fit for a UWC experience.
You’ll then be ready to start your UWC journey!
The selection process consists of 4 parts:
1. An online application package
Which includes different components such as essay questions, academic results, and references/testimonials – The application portal opens in November and closes in January.
2. A group work challenge/evaluation
A group work challenge/evaluation, held in January/February. Details will be shared with applicants who successfully pass the online application stage.
3. An individual interview
With a panel of alumni and members of the UWC Mauritius National Committee, held in January/February. Details will be shared with applicants who successfully pass the online application stage.
Scholarships are awarded based on the financial needs of the family (different documents will be required during the application stage to assess the applicant’s eligibility for a scholarship).
4. Nomination stage
After selections, the National Committee nominates the most promising candidates for placement at UWC schools and colleges. Successful applicants will:
- Receive an offer for a UWC placement, which may be fully or partially funded depending on demonstrated need (all applicants will be requested to submit financial information to this effect).
- Have the opportunity to accept or decline the nomination.
- Complete necessary paperwork and preparations for enrollment.
